Sumi are unnaturally skilled at sketching or drawing with an ink pen or similar utensil. They are also able to do this at an incredible speed, enabling them to draw things in great detail within seconds that would take a normal person hours.

[i]Living Ink:[/i]
Sumi are each born with a special talent to create living creatures out of ink. The drawings and doodles they create on paper are able to reach off the page and become real creatures. The creatures drawn and created are somewhat limited, however, since each Sumi specializes in only a few animals that they are able to fluidly animate.

A Sumi chooses one species of animal per rank (Genin would get 2, Chunnin 3, etc.) that they are able to create. At Chunnin+ rank, they may instead choose a custom creature instead of an animal, though the creature must be accurately described and its abilities stated.

The creatures chosen are able to be used in various jutsu once drawn, just because you choose one animal doesn't mean you only gain one jutsu. Ex. If you chose a fox for your animal, you could have multiple jutsu using your living ink fox.

The rank of chakra used in creating the creature is the creature's effective rank. Treat each creature as a summoning, (though Sumi can still have a summoning beyond their ink creatures) and fill out the template accordingly. The creatures created, however, are not allowed to use jutsu unless they are S Rank. S Rank creatures may use C or lower ranked jutsu, the chakra coming from the user, not the creature.
